Sugar Cane
Lotus use unbleached sugar cane for most products, therefore all these vessels can go back to nature.
Sugar cane will be wasted once it has been harvested for the sugar syrup. Using the cane to manufacture food vessels is a green and safe choice. This material saves carbon as it replaces what otherwise would be required for raw material production. Moreover, it can go back to soil as fertilizers, which is ideal for bio disposable cutlery.
Wheat Straw Pulp
Lotus use unbleached wheat straw pulp. This material is definitely an industrial revolution!
Wheat straw used to be an agriculturally wasted material. After discovering its value, it starts to taking place as one of the best eco choice of vessels! Its features like heat resistant and renewable, make it suitable for hot food applications and composts.
PET
Lotus use PET for our tray lids, so that all PET can be reproduced again after being use.
Polyethylene terephthalate (PET) is a plastic resin and the most common type of polyester. This materials can be used as vessels for food, beverages and other consumer products. It is safe, strong, light, recyclable and versatile. More than that, PET have no plasticizer, so it does not cause pollution. Furthermore, it can be recycled into many new products, such as sleeping bags, coats, auto parts, door panels and so on.
